My Little Piece Of Heaven.

This was on Father's Day after lunch when I thought a trip to the Minnow River was on as it was such a great day.

Seeing it was such a beautiful day weather wise I decided to have a wade in the upper reaches of the Minnow River for an hour or two. Once at my destination I found the river to be at the perfect wading height and it had a nice tannin colour to it as well. I wasn't expecting to catch any fish this far up today as I haven't spotted or caught a fish in this area for several trips now. The reason I keep coming back here from time to time is because it's just a beautiful area to wade, and it's what I call my “Little piece of Heaven.” So it was on with the waders and into the river I went, and yes I did have my rod with me.
Even though I wasn't expecting to catch any fish I still like work the river to keep the practice up in tight areas in these small rivers. One can and does become a little rusty after close to a three month lay off, so it pays to keep the casting accuracy to a high level for later when other rivers are low enough to wade. I don't believe in leaving it to the last minute to try and get the casting and placement back to the top level, as it can be costly fish wise and also the loss of lures. I waded and cast my way up the Minnow River close to two hours without a follow or even a sight of a fish, but it was still a great two hours spent in my little piece of heaven.
