Has anyone fished the far south east corner of SA, say from The glenelg river (yes it's in victoria) up towards Robe or Salt Creek.

I'm interested specifically in targetting Jews or big Salmon off the beach, preferably in a spot where I can drive onto the beach and camp completely alone.

Would like to hear about others experiences and advice please.

I heard them talking about something like this on the big fish podcast, and it sounded totally insane. By the sounds of it u need a decent 4wd though, but the quality of the fishing sounded mental. I'll see if I can find which episode it was.

It's a great place salt creek home of the big big jewys and very big salmon there, but yeah you need a 4x4 for accessing the whole stretch of beach..

No money or room to put a boat at the moment. If I was buying a watercraft it'd be a hobie island adventure i think. Trimaran with the sail, looks like the way to do things to me.

Should have specified, the Greek Goddess I met a little while back has a fully kitted out Patrol :) She's keen to get as far the f away from everyone as possible and is adept with a spin rod.

Goonster, i'd freaking love too one day, probably not the place to learn. Cam said i could borrow his so I might square up a time to meet you somewhere and learn some basics.

bull taht's exactly why I want to go there. I've seen some great results and some fantastic scenery, seems to be very little info anywhere on how to actually do it.

I've fished port Macdonnell,Southend,Beachport,Robe,Cape jaffa,salt Creek
The pick would have to be salt Creek for the big fish. There will always be people around though but not hard to find a quiet spot. You MUST bring alot of fresh bait and water, last thing you wanna do is run out of bait on a hot bite and a big esky with a heap of ice or a freezer.sometimes the crabs are thick aswell!
Only thing is it gets really hot and boring if nothings biting, but if your bringing a Greek goddess then you'll have no worries hahaha

Iv wanted to go there for a long time, only thing that has stopped me is not having a 4x4 other wise would of done it already. I've done a lot of research on it and can't see any way of doing it with out a 4x4. If there's a place at salt creek were you can park the car and walk then I'm happy to that and I'll just camp, but I haven't found any info on that.

How long are you planning on going for?

The further along the S.A. coast you go, the bigger and better the fish, and fewer and fewer the people. Spinning 40+ kilo Kings off rocks, 6-8 kilo Salmon, Samson fish, Jewies, Snapper..etc.etc. all on lures!
