Need to press and hold for a few seconds and be doing < 80km/h.

Depends on the model and year whether or not you have the rear diff lock. If you haven't noticed the button in the centre consol then probably not.

Ok I'll give it a shot now.

Ah yeah it's a '17 GLR but no button for a diff lock.

Edit: yep it works haha that's embarrassing.. never knew you had to hold it in

Apparently the Salt Creek Roadhouse is shut down?

All good mate. Better to get familiar with your car now than when stuck on a beach with an incoming tide.

Next question, is there decent firewood nearby (gums) or is it pretty much just tea tree all around?

Not sure about the Road House.
As for firewood, you will be in the Coorong National Park, so you have to bring your own..

• Wood fires and solid fuel fires are prohibited throughout the year with the exceptions of Ocean Beach foreshores and 42 Mile Crossing Campground.

• Ocean beach foreshores: wood fires or solid fuel fires are permitted between high water mark and low water mark other than on days of total fire ban. You must bring your own firewood, as the collection of firewood within National Parks is prohibited.

• 42 Mile Crossing Campground: wood fires or solid fuel fires are permitted in designated locations except from 1 October 2019 to 30 April 2020 inclusive and on days of total fire ban.

Ok so if I'm reading that correctly we can have fires on the beach but not the camp grounds?

Also got onto the Facebook bloke. He thinks the sand is soft but my car will be fine providing i have the recovery gear. which I do.

Debating whether i pull the pin and head east instead. The surf fishing might not be as good, but at least the weather's favourable.
