i was on magnetic island for the last 2 weeks visiting nan and getting in some fishing. i arrived late Monday evening and i left yesterday. on Thursday the 4th i caught a grassy sweet lip about 45cm and a flathead about 54cm and a ton of baby fish about as big as my hands friday another flathead 47cm. then i caught remora and babies for the rest of the trip until Sunday when i went night fishing caught 3 squid about 50cm and one about 60cm. Monday i went of the rocks had my drag set to 5 kg and a fish grabbed my softie and took of was snapped of on the reef move to the jetty start throwing a white mullet soft plastic 1st cast big queenie grabs it and takes me straight under the jetty we go night fishing again that night and my cousin catches a big trevally at 11 pm. i went on a charter on tuesday and went snorkelling with a big school of batfish and when i was going to hop out a big 1 metre cod comes up so i swim with it a bit and then we go and do a bit of fishing. all up it was good trip.

Seems like you were the magnet on this trip.
Heaps of fish and heaps of variety in your fishing too. What a great holiday, and that swim with the Cod would have been the highlight.

my dad has been there looking after my nan he doesn't have quite as much patience as me and he has caught 1 20 cm fingermark and a remora his excuse is that he isn't as good at fishing the jetty.

Jon, what you can take with you are my best wishes on a safe and good trip (καλό ταξίδι) and for getting amongst those fish :water: , , , , hopefully some pelagics too :thumbsup:
