I plan to be using a 2500 reel but may also swap it over with a 2000 if that suits better. I will definitely be using braid.

What are you actually trying to target. And are you on a boat or land based. Fishing heavy current etc?

Check out the TD black Pinster. It’s short but it sure pings light plastics. Also consider dropping reel size to 1500. I use light braid and mono leader but I’m tempted to just run straight 6lb mono as the leader knot can be annoying and I’ve not yet convinced myself the advantages outweigh the hassles.
