Yeah it's all up in the air Seb. I was at bunnings earlier today. People everywhere.. a police car was actually in the area as well.

Not allowed to leave your house, only for essentials but hairdressers are open.. and cafes for take away coffee.
Doesn't make sense does it.
I mean, those four reasons pretty much indirectly telling shops to close except grocery shops and pharmacies.
Pretty much.. I think it's "advice" i don't think people will be getting fines unless they continue to be a serial offender or like the man that got caught 3 times going out while being infected with the virus.. He copped a fine.

China Bar on Brunswick st just got done for having customers sitting in and eating and drinking.. They got a $9k fine..

https://www.broadsheet.com.au/melbourne ... strictions

But obviously the people in there should have been fined but didn't.. as far as i know..

Honestly though how can they fine someone $1500 during times like these when people can't even pay their rent.

So today in VIC we have.

Cheif Health Officer said you can fish, the premier response was refer to CHO statement.

Then by the end of the day the minister advice is "if you don’t need to go fishing, you shouldn’t be"

As per plenty of posts on facebook this can be read as if you need to go fishing you can go....

I wonder what will happen tomorrow....

NSW is just as bad, Tuesday fishing was ok, this morning according to NSW police fishing was illegal. Then the NSW government confirmed in the afternoon that fishing is legal....

As per the VIC legislation you can leave your home to obtain food. Fishing is a legitamate way to obtain food so all good.

The only grey area is using a boat to go fishing.
That's a case of a police command getting a power stiffy thinking they're the creators of law and not just the enforcers. The fact remains that the NSW government were relatively quick to correct it. We are day what? 10 in a mist of ambiguity about almost every facet of what can and can't be done legally other than stay inside away from the third riechs ss death squad virus, or cram into a supermarket with who knows how many asymptomatic ss death squad carriers, with one saying yes xyz thing is perfectly fine, dumbo ******** saying no it's not, then abcd says wait it actually is but kind of isn't, and a police force quite evidently without a true clue openly very happy about becoming a large revenue resource, almost purposely by design...

It's easy to see how the tin foil fruitloops can seriously believe their conspiracies...

This is a statement from Tim Quilty MLC - Liberal Democrats - Northern Victoria

https://www.facebook.com/pg/TimQuiltyML ... e_internal

"Please feel free to share this around to keep people informed.

To be clear – fishing and hunting are not actually banned by the COVID 19 restrictions, despite what the police may think. If you are doing it to provide for food and obtain exercise, and obeying the other social distancing rules, then you are within the law, and the police have no business bothering you.

The restrictions say you can leave your house to get food: you’ll be a damn sight lower risk - to yourself, and to others - when you are fishing in a boat than you would be queueing up with 200 other people in the supermarket. And hunting on foot is an excellent form of exercise.

The government is going over the top with their phase three lockdown. It is just absolute nonsense to be trying to ban fishing or hunting.

We are all being forced to put up with these restrictions to try and stop the virus. As responsible adults we all want to do what we can to deal with the crisis with the minimum loss of life.

But the government seems to be getting carried away with the power. If you are following the social distancing rules, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to go fishing or hunting. We need the government to stop treating us like children.

Perhaps in Melbourne there isn’t enough space for everyone – but there is absolutely no reason why in the regions we can’t fish or hunt while keeping safe. As we have seen, this government likes nothing more than locking us out of the bush. Now they have one more excuse.

We need to stay safe – if you break a leg while hunting in the bush you will be pulling people away to rescue you, breaking social distancing and tying up medical resources. But if you can hunt and fish responsibly and behave like an adult, you should be free to go ahead.

If you get harassment from the police for fishing – be polite (after asking them to observe safe distancing behaviour) and explain you have left your house to harvest food. If they order you to stop I recommend complying with their directions, but report it to me so we can get it sorted out.

My colleague and I will talk to the Police Minister and the Health Minister about this. The government does not have a licence to use the emergency powers more than absolutely necessary. You can trust the Liberal Democrats to make sure that the police aren’t making up laws as they go along."

It's been now 11 days since Xi Jinping issued that now deleted press release with no detail saying that he was going to national cabinet to begin the shutdown of all non essential activity.

Sorry did I say Xi Jinping? Could've sworn dumbo Dan seceded the state into their control and not just signed up to their thinly veiled takeover...

Anne Frank lived under Nazis. Nazis can go root themselves.

There is a bit more to it than just people being upset they can't fish.. I think it's the reasoning behind it. I understand the no boating completely because it goes against the social distancing rules because ramps will be packed but when people are riding around on bikes in small groups and able to stop for a take away latte or take away meals or people can go to a park and get PT sessions in groups as long as they keep their distance you start to think well whats wrong with going for a quiet walk and flick down a river? They also closed gun stores and have frozen gun store owners bank accounts and also put a hold on people going for their firearms licenses.. Why are the fishing/hunting groups being targeted like this?
