Caught a Blackfish...and then it went wrong

Headed up to Millgrove yesterday evening to try my luck, within minutes of having baits in the water the bites were on.
Hooking up was proving difficult but after about 30 mins .... bang....I was on.
Landed a nice 35cm-ish Blackfish, been chasing them since the start of the year so nice to finally have one. While removing the hook it kicked and dropped in the dirt, so before I took a picture I figured I should wash it off a bit. Of course those Blackfish at slippery buggers and stronger than they look....so yep ...... it kicked again, I dropped it and had to watched it swim off
The rest of the evening I could not hook another bite to save myself, although I did manage to find plenty of snags to hook up on.
Also sighted plenty of trout that were showing themselves just to annoy me...I'm sure of it.
The river is still running high - have not seen it drop to previous Summer level this year, not sure where all the water is coming from.
