Yeah no probs.....you'll see that most of us on the forum use a 9 foot 6 - 8 KG rod for spinning in the surf with 40 - 60 gram metal slugs. The slugs are cheap gillies 4.50 from k-mart!

Btw there is a tackle shop in san remo jim's bait and tackle that you could have picked some lures from or if you are in need of supplies next time.

I'll PM you next time I go for a surf fish. There are a couple of us that regularly catch up on the peninsula which is a bit closer....
