Hit the water today about 730 my mate not keen on chasing kingfish just wanted to catch a gummy, I am devastated calm blue sky and I am stuck inside oh well beggars can't be chosers I will have to suffer. We have a spot just off elizabeth island this time of the year gummies and pinkies. We weren't disappointed 1hr before and 3hrs after we picked up 10 keeper pinkies biggest 40 cm smallest 31cm we must have released 30 30cm and under.
They hammered us that much we run out of bait quick run back to rhyll pick up bait and coffee's near the cleaning table there is always big smooth stingrays we had a laugh as one was stalking a pelican. On the way back we thought we would try for whiting near ram island bad choice hundreds of tiny flathead we spat the dummy and went back to or eliz island spot anchored up and within 1 hr we had picked up 3 more pinkies and a just size gummy going 49cm the measured length.
All day we picked up small tailor small gummies and yellow tail scad off the water by 1600 heading back to Melb tomorrow.

Nice effort lads.
Next throw some plastics down when the pinkies are like that. You will have a ball too.

Hehe. You need like 16oz sinkers to get to the bottom when it's running. Painful

Spot on scraglor I use braid 10 oz my mate uses mono 16oz to hold bottom with those sort of weights even a small fish feels huge. As the tide slacks off I drop a smaller rod with kl 1, 0 circles and pick up the yellowtail salmon and one day I got a kgw
