HUNGRY TILAPIA
After being away in Nigeria for 2 months it was great to be back in Zambia and having a bad case of fishing withdrawal it was off to my favorite farm dam to find the Tilapia ravenous. The end result was 28 Tilapia kept and another dozen or so put back to grow larger and I was out of worms. No real monsters but plenty in the 400-500 gram range so the freezer is now well stocked. Even though I took 2 rods I never had time to bait up the second one.

Re: HUNGRY TILAPIA
Nice catch. Are they native or invasive to that area?

Re: HUNGRY TILAPIA
This species is introduced although there are several other species of Tilapia that are native to Zambia. Unlike Nemwe (known locally as yellowbelly Tilapia) red Tilapia do not often take lures.
