Landbase Kingfish

I typed a long response and somehow lost it......

Snapper until January is a better plan.

LB kings in Melbourne is hard work. My top three spots to target would be Pt Lonsdale pier (because it's accessible) Cape Schanck/Bushrangers Bay (because I have seen two landed there in the past) and Red Point Cape Woolamai (cos we know guys in boats get them nearby.

MorningTide Fishing talk about targeting pelagics from any rocks that protrude past the breakers, they'd probably know best.

50mts off point lonsdale pier and your in the marine park a guy fined in the last 12mnths for doing that kingies sometimes be caugth off the rocks around lorne area

Head west a few hours to Portland etc. and that'll be the most reliable area in Victoria. Otherwise you've got a lot of trying in conditions that hardly ever suit what you want to do.

Sometimes your in the right place at the right time catching kingies on 28gram lures two days in a row is a pretty good feet :a_goodjob:
Also that photo of the kingie caught on the boat at Phillip Island thats a member on this forum is it not? I'm pretty sure of seen that photo here before
