Kingies today

Post by barra mick » Tue Feb 18, 2020 7:28 pm

Managed to sneak out early this morning before the weather got a bit rough for some kingies.

Took about 60 kms before I had some luck and found a school.

I got a double hook up first but lost both them so I went back to just one rod in the hand.

The school stayed around for about 2 hrs.the fish were between 60 and 100 in length.

Kept two for Tucker and released the rest.

Once I lost the school I left.

Managed two little tuna trolling back in around 60 cm each.

Only way I could attach a photo was to screen shot it off phone.still a problem on here

Cheers bm

Good to hear from ya Mick! Sounds like you had a great morning on the water with some quality fish caught, well done mate. Once you find the kingie schools do you tend to cast to them with stick baits and the likes, or do you just troll around them?

Good work BM, some rippers there, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

No redhunter...just troll through them .

Only really use scraps or halo lures.

Sometimes troll a squid

Good to see your alive though !!

Caught a 1.45cm cod the other day off the sandbar.

You might have to show me how it’s done one day ol’ mate! I’ll supply the Diet Coke, hehe.

Geez man, 1.45! That’s huge! Well done indeed. How the hell are you ever going to beat that? Wow.
