After a bit of investigating, it looks like it is a cowanyoung. Im sort of surprised two species are so similar, but I guess I shouldnt be. Does anyone know how to to actually tell the two apart? And at what stage are they generally Cowanyoung vs Yakkas?

They say cowanyoung get bigger but I've never seen a cowanyong hit 50cm either cowanyong have bigger eyes as mentioned and yakka have a more yellow tail

Looks like a yakka I thought cowanyoungs lateral line curvedlike this one. Since I shrunk the photo lost some clarity but around the second dorsal fin the lateral curves up
