Re: Gummy Bait
Most baits are ok and everyone has their favourites but the most important is how fresh it is IMO...

Re: Gummy Bait
You may also find yakkas and trevelle, they are good and great gummy bait respectively.

Re: Gummy Bait
Small Carp make great shark bait...frozen or fresh.
A frozen 30 cm Carp under a balloon has accounted for quite a few Bronzies. It's also my go-to bait for landbased Gummys.
Cheers, Greggo.

Re: Gummy Bait
probably not the best bait in the south channel -- prawn works better in the shallow end of WP on the mud banksCarlG wrote:Salmon if they're about..or cheater's favourite bait, banana prawns from safeway or coles.

Re: Gummy Bait
There are typically small schools around the edge of the bay, they do move and can be hard to find if you don't have a good sounder.mattsoccerfish wrote:@FrozenPod, where a bouts do you find yakkas?
I would put some baits in the water whilst you are trying for squid if you catch some great if not squid will do.
