PPB Mayhem!

Post by purple5ive » Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:38 pm

Another Quick report!

On the water around 10am for a sensational day of fishing. the bay was nice and calm and was a pleasure to be out on the bay, many other boaties enjoying the day as well.
we had a few squid in the boat from the get go, but then a salmon school turned up and then it was absolute mayhem after that!!!!
multiple double hook ups means the luvias was wailing non stop!!
we give up after a few hours of being towed around on light gear and decide to take a break and have some lunch when they went quiet, but Noooooooo the salmon had other plans, no sooner than we start to have a bite to eat they began free swimming near the surface of the boat and i did what any good fisho would do in that instance, sight casted to 50cm salmon and got smashed again!! didnt have to do anything, just cast and watch them hammer the plastic..
eventually we stopped at 20 fish in the boat and left them biting, releasing about as many as we kept, all fish between 40 and 50cm maybe bigger i didnt measure any!
we then turned our attention to the squid and bagged out X2 and released quite a few as well.
Light coloured jigs in size 3.0 working for the squid, and 3 inch natural coloured plastics working for the salmon.

Thats also probably my PB trevally, i didnt measure but easily a 50cm fish going by the size of those salmon i was getting, took the opportunity to also cook up some calamari chilli stir fry, came out quite nice for someone who is capable of setting the kitchen on fire!!

That's a day to remember. They don't come around too often.

The trevor is a stonker. They always pull hard for their size and on light gear it would have led you on a merry dance.

Well done!

Nice work man, trevs go insanely hard for their size. Always a fun to hook up on the bream gear.
