Very nice.
Is it really a bass or EP?
Every now and then there's reports of bass/ep. I often cant tell the difference.
EP on top, Bass on the bottom
Oh yeah, they look different.

And they're so closely related they can create hybrids. A pre stocking study done bit over a decade ago on Bass in a major gippsland river showed 2 of 13 acoustically tagged Bass were in fact hybrid bass/ep and the only way of knowing is via DNA test. So for all we know someone at the hatchery stuffed up and the Werribee River is stocked with bass/ep hybrids

Oh wow. Interspecies. What shall we call them. Estuary Bass or Baerch or Aussie Perch.
Good to know there's quality freshwater fish close to home for people in the western suburbs. No need to drive fir hours to gipps to catch bass. :tu:
