From fresh to salt on finesse baitcast

This bait finesse stuff is addicting.

Got at princess pier 6:30am, water was filthy chocolate with white brownish foam everywhere.

Moved to Albert Park for some freshwater action instead, fished 7am-8:30am, missed two hit (pretty sure EP), dropped one EP and one trout, both right on the feet.

Went saltwater, caught a flatty and young aussie salmon.

The Infeet Z blue baitcast rod is amazing, with Abu BF8, they're a great pair for both fresh and salt.

Sunline PE0.5 braid, can't remember 6lb or 8lb fluorocarbon leader, 1.5g--3g jig head, something like that. Haha.

Definitely.
Can feel more than spin outfit.
Almost like fly fishing, but slightly different, because the rod isn't as soft and bendy like fly rod.

If you got the spare time and money, I suggest get into it.
Warning, it's addicting. Haha.

Not for years locally unless parrallel imported. An old Curado 50E could be tuned with aftermarket stuff for BFS. The Core 50 and Chronarch 50mg are BFS reels in the sense that out of the box on a decent BFS rod they could cast a few grams a fair way but they were never designated as BFS reels. Anything below 3gm though and I struggled to get close to 10m with a Chronarch 50mg. And they're all over a decade old so good luck finding any of them in decent condition.

There is a few JDM Shimanos suited if you want to import yourself like the Aldebaran BFS, SLX BFS, Metanium Shallow.

Shimano SLX BFS is around $200 from Japan directly via express post. You will need a light baitcast rod too.
If you're on budget, there's heaps of bfs rods and reels from AliExpress. Heaps of video reviews of them too on YouTube.

lol, I can't really see myself getting into it but I am highly tempted. what site would I go to for a bfs rod and reel? I would rather pay a bit more for quality than something cheap.

Digitaka.com
Do a quick google search and watch YouTube videos of what BFS is about before buying.

Some of those AliExpress stuff is actually good quality and materials, especially for the price.
Tsurinoya Dark Wolf Ultra bfs reel at around $110 has good reviews and kuying teton rod. Ace Hawk rod is also good.

If you go Japanese, SLX BFS reel is the cheapest at $200'ish. And rods be also $200+.
