are you running other programs at the same time whilst browsing? (control + alt + delete to bring up task manager and see what other Chrome or firefox programs are running in the background, could be some malware or something stopping your pages...or multiple chrome windows open at the same time?

I find "cc cleaner" works well to clean up the registry and it's free, I use Windows 10 ..

I second that. I've been using CCleaner since my early XP days and it's been great - never had any issues.

I set it to clean pretty much everything (system files, cookies, registry, the woks) and have never hit a snag.

What OS are you running - Windows, mac (yuk!), Linux, etc?

Any recent hardware changes/upgrades? Any changes or other issues with your internet?

It's Windows 7 home premium I think. No changes that I can think of but I'll give ccleaner a bash and see how it goes.

CCleaner worked for a little while but now the same thing is happening again.

Have you tried another browser to see if the site works on your computer?

Firefox is doing it too despite CCleaner nuking the cache for both it and Chrome etc

I'm wondering now if maybe I picked be a bit of malware or something.

That is what came up when I hit Submit for this post. Refreshing caused the page to load correctly the second attempt.

Download and run, malware bytes. Just make sure when you install it, you select the free version and not the trial pro version.

See what it comes up with.

Didn't come up with any malware specifically, but there were 20 or so things it wanted to delete so we'll see how that goes.

Did you get any further sorting things out?
