The best jewie bait is the freshest bait, and you won't get any fresher than live. Mullet, salmon, whiting, tailor, slimies, to name a few, all work very well. Basically anything that has a slender body shape. Mullet are most commonly used as they are plentiful and easy to catch, and are quite hardy. They can kick around on a set of hooks all night long.

What rig would you reccomend for live bait? Float? Running sinker?

any rig will work as long as the mullet cant go anywhere to hide
