Some of my recent trips...
Well guys,
Haven't been posting a lot of recent due to work and lack of fishing but have still snuck a few trips in here and there. Report as follows...
5-1-15-
After a rather dismal effort trying to collect bait, we caught the last 3hrs of the flood tide in the Western Entrance in the hope of a big Gummy with some sub-standard bait. Time went by after reeling in a few Gurnard and Flathead and our hopes were looking dim...
Nek minnit with an hour of tide to go rod 4 bounces, buckles, and then screams. It was clearly a shark by the fight and not an Eagle Ray, after a 10min fight I had an 18+kg Gummy boatside which was released as she was very heavily pregnant. Video below if it works
25-1-15
With some big tides instore for the evening flood tide we had no choice but to sit shallow. Fresh bait was first on the cards as I had none and was a little nervous. Well, fair to say my regular bait collection spot was chaos, within minutes we had half a dozen fish in the boat. At one stage I actually stopped burleying as it was going off. I stayed there longer than planned as one of my good friends wanted a stack of bait. By the time we left we had near on 30 fish comprising of Yakkas/Slimeys/Trevally..... Doesn't get much better when it comes to Gummy bait...
Off to the Gummy mark off Hastings as the sun disappeared and within an hour of darkness the sealice appeared, great . Persistence pays off though, once the tide started to roar the sea lice slowed down and 4hrs into the flood tide we netted a 12+kg Gummy (my friend Steve pictured). That was the only fish for the night.
2-2-15
Went on a social trip on my Monday RDO with my charter friend Shaun from ThinkBig Charters. Target was whiting without berley. Well... No need for me to go into great details on the Whiting except for the fact we got 30 fish between us and a very plump Rock Flathead. Action wasn't insane but steady.
On the way into Stony Pt we spotted a school of Salmon smashing a ball of Krill... We stopped, and what fun we had the next 15mins on our Whiting rods  . Salmon to 2kg/Horse Mackerel/Cowanyoung and then the action died off, was great fun nevertheless  .
7-2-15
Finally, on Saturday evening I went out for WP Mulloway. We started off Tankerton for Squid and within 2 drifts had 4 meaty Squid in the boat, fresh bait- check!!
Off to the chocolate coloured water I went (Corinella)...
Unfortunately, we didn't get any Mulloway. But, still had a great time and got some ripper photos of the sunset.
Hope you enjoyed...
Mick
(Hope the photos and video works :???: )

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
