but for $179 i am thinking of getting more Penn Prevail's but will not be getting them at my local BCF

as there $240
I was looking at the Penn Prevail Surf Rods at BCF online earlier today.

The current Club Member price is reduced to $188: http://search.bcf.com.au/search?w=penn% ... surf%20rod

There is also currently an online code for $30 off when you spend $150 Expires 31/1/2016 Code: BCFSAVE30

I tested the code and it actually brings these rods down to $158 :a_goodjob:

Cheers

Looks like it's $9.95 postage or free pick up in store.

Dinga did have the penn 850 ssm reel for $69, added it to my cart went to pay and it went out of stock! Got it from bcf for 30 more but i have a storefront if something goes wrong.

With the internet today it pays to shop around, there are always sales and specials on

My Aerowave Graphite came today.... MmmmmMMM it's a sexy rod !

I've always had fibreglass surf rods and biggest was 12 ft. This 13ft Graphite rod is bloody awesome, can't wait to put it through it's paces.

Well worth the cash spent

Update: this is my first Graphite surf rod. Seeing as I fish pretty much 100% from my kayak for the last 2 odd years and am used to just dropping baits over the side, I was certain my casting left a lot to be desired.

I took the rod along with my Aerlex 8000 spooled with 40lb Sunline to the local footy field and tied on a size 3 star sinker. Took 4 casts with my best being bang on 100 steps which I measured with a tape measure to be about 1m per step.

I know a lot of others probably cast out miles further but considering I haven't had to cast so far in a long time and with more practice I reckon I can get well beyond that.

I didn't want to load up the rod too hard initially so I was a little timid with my casts admittedly however looking forward to get right into it soon.

I did notice how much lighter, sharper and crisper it felt compared to my 12ft K-Mart jobbie.

This is now my overall new favourite rod :)

Thanks everyone for their feedback.

Now I may be heading out this weekend to give it a proper go if anyone is keen :super:

100 is fine to hit pretty much any of the popular spots we talk about on here mate.

Glad you like the aeroweave.
