Thats awesome . I have a Shimano BigBaitrunner XTA LC for my baitfishing . I love that reel.

Do you have a separate lure fishing setup as well?

Also, how often do you use the baitrunner function , I tend to leave mine with gear engaged while on the surf
Most of my other reels are Penn 560 slammer live liners (6 of em) these double up for spinning as well as bait feeding reels.
I do use the bait feeder option on the surf, to stop my rods from getting pulled down the beach in case a big ray takes off.
Seen it happen a long time ago to a guy that didn't get to his rod in time because his tackle was away from where his rod was.
560 live liners...been sussing them out....what lb line you run on them for bait fishing?
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

Some have 20lb braid and others 30lb braid depending what I'm after, the line lay is very good and even on the spool. Built like tanks so you could go 50lb braid if you wanted. All metal body no frame twist what so ever.

I'm all packed up for my first proper crack at them for the season, if we get onto a few we'll get the bait rods out and have a go at the gummies.
