You can. I just tie the knot each time.
By the time I run out of enough leader by doing this im probably due to replace it anyway due to leader knot wear

I'd strongly suggest NOT using a snap to attach a lure.

A few years ago it cost me the biggest salmon (70cm+) I've ever seen when the snap popped open when the fish made a final dash for freedom.

What I do now is use a normal swivel and thread the split-ring on the lure onto it.

Cheers,

Mike.

Whatever you're comfortable with. All three of the mentioned methods have pro's and cons. I just use a snap if I remember to take one if not a uni knot.

Decoy egi snap, open the small end, clip it onto a good quality bearing swivel.
Best snap swivel you'll use for flicking metals.

I use this fast snap
Image
there are light gauge and strong, easy snapping in lures even the tiny jighead eyelet
