Not really sure how you're doing it? Can you feel the lure dragging on the sand?
Cam
No not really, just started reeling in and bam - snag. Last Thursday was about the spot I've arrowed on the map I reckon.

No fish here.

Get yourself a Gunnamatta fish finder like mine.
Wow.

Have you guys all ditched trebles on your lures?

I fish exclusively with singles, the only exception being if i'm too lazy to change them, and then i usually drop 7 out of the 8 fish i hook or something stupid like that.

Also, I lubed up the gunnamatta fish finder this morning and got out at dawn for the low....

All fish on Busted 45/75's.

The first 500m near the stairs is garbage at low tide. There were maybe 20 bait fisho's lined up casting into knee deep water. The big hole at the bottom of the stairs is gone and the first reasonable patch of water is about 600m to the SE of the stairs at the Surf club. There is a second TREMENDOUS gutter about 400m past that one, then a third shallower one right down near the rocks.

I'd suggest going with a heavy lure to try and get the range out past the dirty water and don't bother casting until you get past the first little rise in the sand.

Only put in about 90 mins casting. High tide today and tomorrow could be spectacular.

Well done and many thanks for the info.

I got some Decoy Jigging Single 4/0 hooks - are they OK for the 40g metal lures instead of the trebles?

Yeah. 2/0 or 4/0. I'm using 4/0 on a 75g. Carl is using 2/0 on a 45g. The 2/0 I feel sits better on the gillies 40g baitfish if that's the lure you're using.

I put some single 4/0's on a Halco Rooster Popper, does the rear (trailing) hook face up or down?
