Response to P5

Post by rb85 » Thu Feb 25, 2021 6:56 pm

This wasn't WPB mate. There's other place to fish as well where you don't need bricks to use as sinkers and a small fridge to use as an anchor.
Was trying to defend you I know it was PPB no need to be so self righteous

What would you usually do if you were first in a spot (drifting or at anchor doesn't matter) and then people came and anchored all around you??

Tell them to **** off of they were too close or cast a jig next to them possibly

Ol mate crumpets tells me to change my ways of fishing around other boats, but has failed to realise I was the first one there, an easy couple of hours earlier than the next boat!!
Tell the whole story then I got his point

The way he would deal with looks like a **** off mate will definitely be on the cards, as he has already mentioned.
Ol mate would have been shaking with rage with what happened in the next 30 mins in my case :rf:

So what happened?

His idea of drifting is also oldskool, clearly has never fished off a boat with an electric motor and smart steer with cruise control and heading lock options available at the touch of a button.
My boat drifted 3 or 4 meters in the 10 minutes it took for me to work out we were definitely moving away very slowly.

Once again should have told the whole story then I don't use an electric either or cruise control the tech makes you anything special P5

Anyway all this drama is not worthwhile for me nowadays. Best to keep my fishing related activities to myself from.now on..

Maybe be smarter in your reports and please don't go running to mods

Cheers

I thought crumpet was a bit over the top but P5's response to me reeked of arrogance

Only need to post it once rb
Thanks for your detailed response here. Unfortunately the thread got locked which is out of my control.

The aim was to write a quick fishing report, not a detailed report of the events that unfolded on the day.

As for telling them to **** off, I prefer to not do that on the water.

As for what happened 30 mins later, I already told you guys, many boats came and anchored in my drift line, not 1 around 12 maybe.

If you (or in this case old mate as well) dont use a trolling motor and have no idea what they are capable of doing, then maybe best thing to do is not voice your opinion on the very subject.
Technology doesn't automatically make anyone extra special, it does however help you greatly if you know how to use it properly.

Yeah smart thing to do now is let the other do reports here.

Thats all I need to say here.
Cheers

Please explain mate.
Both of you had a passive aggressive go at me. So that's perfectly ok??

And no, nobody went running to the mods yet. Thats reserved only for a select few dingbats.

P5 I defended you and just said I don't like boats anchoring near me.

As for not knowing what electric trolling motor do or don't do your comment reeks of arrogance mate... Yours obviously doesnt fir the purpose if its almost causing collisions.
