Altona 27/11

Post by smokin_reels » Wed Nov 27, 2019 9:49 pm

I headed out today with the intention of finding a snapper on the sounder and smacking one on plastics.
My sounder battery was loose and i didnt realise till i got home, which was rather unfortunate.
The wind was a lot stronger than advertised and and i gave up on the blind casting attempt and switched to trolling.

Fabulous time after that, a bunch of salmon between 860gms -1.3 kilos on a 110mm Atomic Shiner (Silver Wolf).
I had a Atomic Arrowz rod to match and it had a great christening.

Saved the heads for bait, frames for a curry and fillets vacuum sealed and packed up.

:tu:

Was a blast and salvaged what could have been a bad morning.

Nice. Still a good day out..
Change the hooks on the shiners to a single hook, Will be easier to deal with the fish after.

Nice, well done. :tu: Did you launch off Millers Rd? How far off?
I was thinking to take the yak out yesterday afternoon but was windy as. Went to princess pier landbased instead, saw a flock of seagulls in the distance. Seems like salmon are still around.

thats the one. Ive never had problems with it. I use it for everything.
no failed sealings ever.

These days when i go camping i vac seal curries and marinara sauce, and freeze them.
Boil rice or pasta and just reheat the sauce in the same pot. :tu:
Been working out quite well.

I even vac sealed a christmas present coz i cbf wrapping. :rf:

The wind picked up and i stayed close to shore, Maybe 700-800m off the shore.
They were in close.
