I got a really nice spinning setup shortly after christmas and have been itching for the salmon to come on as we get into winter but I haven't been able to find any great quantities. I walked the length of 13th beach yesterday without getting anything, and only got a small one on Friday.
It's not a great salmon beach compared to Gunnamatta but I did expect it to be a bit more productive than this!

Other trips to Bancoora, Apollo Bay etc haven't been productive either so I'm wondering if it's just a **** year for them or something.

There has been an absolute ton of salmon in Corio Bay, but for the beaches not sure!
I'll be trying OGrove in a few weeks.

I beat gunners to froth this morning. Just 1 on lure.

The place was packed with baitos but some did not even get a bite.

Is there warmer water in the bay keeping them there or something?

Been reasonable numbers from point cook to werribee south

Caugh 10 last week at on frankston pier with metal lures and some blue bait

Yeah seems like there’s heaps in the bay, but I was wondering if anyone else had found them hard to come by along the ocean beaches

I can confirm plenty in the bay. Last 2 trips out big schools feeding frenzy big sambos everywhere around the boat

Hooked up to a few around kilcunda on lures few weeks ago, otherwise have been chasing them around in the bay and struggling to find them , always somewhere else when I go somewhere haha

Maybe I just need to hold my nose and visit a pier
