What hooks for sambo?

I got some size 4 hooks, will they be alright for salmon?

I think salmon hooks are 4/0

Salmon only have small mouths so 4/0 is too big. For bait fishing I usually use 1/0 to 3/0 but smaller is on to so don't panic.
There's an old saying, big hooks catch big fish, small hooks catch all fish.
