Long Weekend Plans

Post by Aimless » Thu Jan 23, 2020 3:26 pm

Anyone heading out this long weekend? Where are you heading to?

I can't get away for more than a day trip so just thinking of where I might go that won't be too brutally busy. Mornington is the usual easy choice but that's bad enough on a normal Sunday!

I'll be staying off the piers, they will all be busy even after dark.

I'll be at Flinders beach Friday night - NW breeze, high tide around midnight, new moon, looks ideal for KGW and squid.
Sat or Sunday night, if wind stays low I'll be at Somers. If the southerly comes in early or if I don't catch any fresh squid I'll go to Parkdale instead.

Hah! Yeah good idea honestly.

Thanks for the heads up Aaron, not sure I would be able to get out Friday but I think a surf wade might be my best bet too.

Planning Williamstown but with all that dirty water coming down the Yarra I’m not sure if that’s a good plan.
I have been told in the past to find the ‘line’ between the dirty and clean water as that can be productive, but others have said get as far away from dirty water as possible.

Thoughts?

Haven't looked at the weather yet, nor cleared anything with the minister for war n finance in our house.... but I wouldn't mind doing a run to Lakes or Portland.
