I’ll probably take my kayak out for a squid session not using any public ramp and staying close to shore sometime next week unless the situation changes rapidly.

The drive will be less than 15min will not use ramp facilities

Obviously the advice to Victorians in every media platform possible about non essential activity the last week is falling on deaf ears.
Just went and logged into the Altona boat ramp car park camera - looks chockas to me.
All doing essential boating of course.
Gold..That's my car and trailor ....2nd bottom.

Nice out there this afo btw.

Easily kept the 1.5 meters plus apart

I think Australia doesn't need a Lockdown

We're doing pretty good , , , , ignoring these rules , , , , we don't need more rules to ignore to prove our ignorance

Cheers, Bugs (yes, you can ignore this too)

Seems entitlement takes many forms, some people feel "entitled" to do as they please.

They feel entitled to:

* float the rules on social distancing.
* go to a beach with their friends when it is not an essential activity AND ignore Government requests to stay home
* disregard someone who is being cautious and come right up to them.
* not wash their hands because they don't see the need (or just don't care) and we touch what they do.
* not self isolate when required to.
* and one insidious aspect , , , , the notion of "I've got it, so I don't care who I give it to".

I mean look at this guy in Adelaide yesterday (or the day before), being arrested/detained by Police and he didn't like it, so he spat at a Police Officer.

, , , , unfortunately, my family's (and everyone's families) are entitlement to feel and be safe doesn't seem to be one that some people consider

You can find many reasons to go out of the house , , , , but how about 24.6 million reasons not to go out

Cheers Bugatti (who is one of the 24.6 million)

Please note: getting out SENSIBLY for mental well-being, in my opinion is justified.

Think it depends when and where groups at St Kilda beach would be a no. Isolated areas without another soul around would be no risk so long as you were able to get there to home without human interaction. My boat won’t be heading out for a bit but bank and kayak who knows.

Its hard to draw the line. Obviously congregation is to be avoided. A lot of grey areas at the moment. Especially if we're leaving it to the people's best judgement, then there be justification.
As much as I want to go fishing, this is also a good time to force myself to finish that DIY work at home. Clean the garage, the fishing storage, etc. Finally finished my backyard decking. Need to redo the vegie patch, etc.
And that first day out when this is over, will be very very sweet. Survive now and we'll taste it. One day it'll come.

Ask someone in those long lines outside Centrelink offices and I think they would beg to differ. An awful lot of people's livelihood have been sacrificed already in order to make your family feel 'safe'. Instead of virtue signalling, try to understand that someone fishing and empty stretch of river or bay isn't the issue far as your safety is concerned. The real issue has always been the thousands of people pouring in via airports and ships without so much as having their temperature taken. Australia doesn't need to be under house arrest FFS, isolate the infected and those at most risk and let the rest get on with it.
