Cheers both. I’ve made up a sabiki rig with two hooks coincidentally. Will just have to try again. A second update is a few guys have turned up and said Francis st has been fishing well lately with catches of mulloway, flathead, pinkies and large-enough-to-be-cool banjos. Having a crack with some squid as this seems to have been the go. It’s an interesting spot and I plan to come back on a westerly and balloon into the shipping channel on the other side.

Righto, I’ll finish off the report. Francis st was quiet for the rest of the night. Managed a pinkie on a squid head and that was about it. Was getting bites but they were very shy, or perhaps just tiny pinkies. Hope this all hopes! Seems to give truth to the saying that the fish are least when the wind is east.
