Spoke with an official at the ramp this afternoon the markers have been delivered and will be installed next week I can not believe the poor project management they have had months to arrange this then left it to the last minute

I got a message today the channel markers have been put in they are floating temporary ones for 12 months prior to permanent poles going in. So hopefully the ramp will open next week.
I have been surprised lately the lower end of the pier has been under water several times I have never seen it under water before but I don't think it is related to the rock wall I found a picture from before the new rock wall was put in

Looking good, it'll be interesting to see if the rock wall helps prevent sand build up from N winds.

I am tipping the weed build up will decrease but the entrance is facing a sand bank that is why they built the platform at the end of the new rock wall reduced the opening from 25m to 20mt because that's the largest boom length of the excavator. In my conversations with better boating vic and bellarine bayside management I wanted to make sure they have a management plan for the entrance not a ad hoc bull commitment like Clifton Springs. Along with multiple other issues .

Yeah, I think the biggest difference between this new rockwall and springs is that there will be actual tidal movement. Springs flows in, but can't flow out.

This looks good and the increased shelter the better, hopefully St Leonards gets something simialr because it's always needed one being so exposed from the N /E.

Opens at 9 am tomorrow morning dennis. I got a call from BBV this afternoon. The port and starboard markers at the entrance will be replaced with poles in 2 weeks they are swinging on their chains a bit too much. Also in 2 weeks some concrete poles with wood boards will be installed either side of the jetty to allow boats to moor to whilst waiting for their trailer to be backed in if they have someone with them.

Just a heads up, noticed coming in tonight that the first green channel marker as you come out of the rock wall is no longer lighting up
