It seems both engines stalled and had to be re-started. He was very lucky the boat stayed bow onto the waves. If he had broached 63 ft Bertram or not he would have likely rolled over. Must have exciting times for those on board!

Picked the worst spot to cross from what I’ve heard, and boats a third of the size crossing a few hundy metres along had no issues. Apparently it bottomed out and the engines stalled, and a mayday call was made. The boat was declared a write-off after this mis-hap. What a waste!

Reading the reports it returned in limp mode, the automatic liferaft was jettisoned during the dramas :(

They went through where those blue bits are in the middle, video is shot from below (south) of those shallow areas closer to the headland that's just out of picture
