The savage has a shallow V at around 15 deg.

The whittle has 19 deg, commonly a boat with 20 deg plus is considered deep V. The whittley is a much better hull design and 19 deg V is certainly a big improvement over the savage.

Yes 5k max for the savage, the motor has some value the hull and trailer are only worth scrap.

Market is dead atm we recently sold our 5.2m Haines Hunter. Was a much better boat than those which you are looking at. Boat and motor were perfectly setup perfect balance etc and it was a brilliant performer. The trailer and motor had both been replaced much newer than what you are looking at and after many months on the market we eventually sold it for 11k.

Many dreamers asking crazy $$$ and have boats up for sale for years at a price they never get.

Strange they’ve both got the info wrong then. If that the correct degrees.

What do you reckon of a Haines hunter 16R
is that better then both of them two?

Or should I try find someone with one 5k more then budget that’s been sitting in the site for months or so and see if they bite?

Get a Pre - purchase inspection don’t trust it
just because its from a dealer.

Deep V hulls more suited to PPB/ WP >Haines Hunter ,Haines Signature,Seafarer, Caribbean etc.
The savage has a deep V hull and said it’s good in rough water. Will be getting the pre purchase inspection.
Tell them u wan a water test

Is that the Cherokee at Cranbourne Boating Center? If so, a quick look on their site and i would say that there are better boats in your price range at that dealership.

I think of the Cherokee as more of a ski boat which will probably give a pretty harsh ride in the chop of PPB. And i hate back to back seating.. so much wasted space.

The first boat on that site i would check out is the V17L, it does mention a soft spot on the transom so you would have to be willing to go through that pain first but you will end up with one of the best hulls ever made IMO. Also the Seafarer Venus looks good and the Haines Signature 460 if it isnt too small for your requirements.
The only thing better than serenity is a two stroke at full throttle!
