Probably worth bringing some extra water as well, I think you’re supposed to bring a few litres per person when going off-shore.

Whats the reason for a harness to the boat that you always use?

I always bring a basic tool kit, fuses, spare wheel bearing, a small jump start battery, first aid kit and a bottle of water.

Have a tool kit-And spare parts
Also have an Esky -4 Coke and 4 water
Have 1st aid kit
Harness is if I fish alone-If I fall in water -big drama as sometimes the tides run at 1-3 knots

Hmm. This has got me thinking of knocking up a 150mm conduit to house all the safety gear on the boat with a grab handle. That way it floats. Can be used as additional buoyancy and also keeps everything waterproof on the boat.

Also carry a pair of heavy duty wire cutters. Found out the hard way that my light weight fishing pliers don't cut fish hooks stuck in hand.

Not long ago-I had a gold bomber treble stuck in my finger
Ok, im not a sissy-Ill have a few stubbies and pull him out with pliers-
As its past the barb I give it a few yanks and a few tries-gee wizz this is not working-Hurts like hell
Ring a taxi to go to Geelong Hospital -Every one lookin at me and having a giggle at the Hosp
Doc come in with a smart comment and gives me 2 shots thru the web of my fingers -He cuts the flesh and yanks it out-Just missing his face
Taxi home and a few more stubbies
Heavy duty pliers not good for this one
Not nice Jan
