Just how sticky is Eva Foam decking?

Post by Kestrel » Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:18 pm

Hi folks
I'm thinking about covering my fibreglass non-skid decking areas with Eva Foam.
Being non-skid, the deck surface is rippled and it has been suggested to me that the Eva Foam adhesive backing won't stick well on it and that I'll need to cover the non-skid areas with a filler before laying.
Any opinions on that?

I don’t have a boat and I have no knowledge about Eva foam, but it could be worth getting a hold of a small off cut and test it out without the filler?

Put up pics of the non stick area? I’m going to be putting ebay eva down on my boat. Have seen it done successfully on other boats. Just needs thorough surface prep. Acetone wipe and extra adhesive added
