If you're willing to put up with it and adamant on US direct then forget the traditional bay boats. 15° on the Viper is going to bash the living **** out of you in even moderate chop, and most bay boats I've seen are all 16° or less. If you want any sort of comfort in the usual days liķe what it is today nothing less than 17° deadrise. The Outrage is the pick with 22° but that's a lot of hull under the water. The Commander offers the best allrounder that should have adequate performance at 18°. One thing to watch out for is beam, a 230 Outrage slots in at 2.59m, overwidth to tow without signage and other **** over here. I still say a walkaround would be the best compromise of shelter vs bow access, you do lose most fishable room up front but you gain a lot as far as an actual cabin plus actual shelter from the rain and spray
