Tiller v Forward Steer

Inherited an old brooker runabout, really just a tinny. Had an old 25hp merc with forward steering / controls. Going to replace the motor with a 30hp but can’t decide if I keep the forward steer set up or switch to the tiller. I will use it up on the Murray 3 or 4 time a year and in port Phillip bay once or twice and year and maybe some random lakes. Will use for fishing except every now and again I’ll tow the kids on the tube. It’d be nice to have the forward steer, especially given that’s how dad had it set up. But I think tiller might be better and more manoeuvre able on the river? It would also allow me to make some mods to the front to build in more space. Thoughts ?
