Graghhh and I'm still struggling to get whiting. Especially with strong wind we've been having. My kayak is collecting dust!
You can get whiting landbased in these winds, without issue, just need to know where to go.
The last sentence is the hardest part.
I'm no whiting master. Only catch by luck and not intended.
The cold and strong wind drop the motivation too.

So you're like I'm just gonna throw this whole squid with 6/0 hook and 'whatttt a whiting on the 6/0 hook??!!'
Ahahaha ...
Pretty sure that's not the case.
Thanks, now I just have to figure out which gummy water. Shouldn't be too hard, probably 3000 km or shoreline.
Ah i think its just me that hasn't been spending enough time

No No No
This is the best Fishing time for Ting and Monster Squid
What's a Ting?
I know it's great fishing weather for KGW otherwise know as King George Whiting or in short Whiting, never actually heard of this "Ting" fish.

I know you're joking, but I got my P.B KGW (48cm, not a thumper but still not behd, 2 seconds in, not behd, not behd, good size) as bycatch on a half pilchard on a big hook. Might have been 5/0 circle. The big girls smash pillys.

must say I don't think the wind has been that bad over winter I haven't missed that many W/Es in the yak and in fact 2 W/Es back I think is was the smallest swell I've fished of the front of Cape Woolamai
you could have water skied out the front the perfect day
as for the cold since buying my new dry pants I've been warm as toast on the water these are far better than the normal Lovigs or Kokodats
but will be to hot over the warmer months
My kayak PBs
Gummy shark 128 Cm - Elephant fish 85 Cm - Snapper 91 Cm - KG Whiting 49 Cm - Flathead 55 Cm - Garfish 47 Cm - Silver Trevally 40 Cm - Long Tail Tuna 86 Cm - snook 64 Cm - Couta 71 Cm - Sth Calamari 44 Cm hood - Cobia 117 cm
