Well I was brought up as a Ford man but my pride and joy was a 1973 Lj Torana Gun Metal grey. It was a Xu1 mock up but had plenty of good stuff on it.
I had a 179Hp motor bored out to a 208 with triple strombergs on it an original X2 set of HR headers with a Saginaw Chev racing box. The speedo only went to 110Mph but it would do 40mph in 1st, 80mph in 2nd,110mph in 3rd and would wind the needle back to the miles reading so I never knew how fast it was top speed but probably about 140mph I think. It was a quick little car.
This is not the car but it was identical to this.

I grew up a holden guy who swore off them a few years ago after owning 2

As an 18 yo I had about $7k to spend on my first car. I was tossing up between 2 cars. A VS commodore S-pac with 180,000kms for $5.5k or a VH Charger for $7k.

I chose the commodore thinking it would be more reliable. 4 years later I sold the VS for $2k having spent thousands on it and the same charger was valued around $25k haha.

Ford in my younger days
Had a couple of hz wagons, then Ford's again
I now have a Toyota
If I had good money, I'd buy a mustang fastback & a corvette (both old school)
Although I've always wanted to "hot rod" a Hearst, yes for rev head funerals
Everybody said there would be no takers, I disagree.
Cheers Gra
