Making Hay while the sun shines

Post by re-tyred » Thu May 28, 2020 3:49 pm

Well the sun is shiny and a mate I fly with, and help out with his boat electronics, rang and asked, if I can give him a hand on his farm.He is bailing hay. Haven't done it since I was a kid in the 1960s. I wonder if the technologies have changed :-D Anyway he says I can operate the bail wrapper??? Could be an interesting day tomorrow. :o_0:

Sounds like a whole heap of fun, work'n on the Farm :tu:
Great to also hear your childhood had farming in it too. Something that was part of my childhood, which are some great memories.

I sense a bit of excitement in operating the hay baler, and should be a great day, I mean , , , ,what could go wrong

In Victoria retyred ???
Wouldn't have thought it could dry out enough this time of year
Mind you I'm thinking of small squares, you'll be wrapping rounds (I think)
Throwing the 1st few (small squares) is ok, the next 50 are harder, the last 50 are agony
I know you're a fit ob (old bloke), but, take it easy, you're not a 20 year old
Cheers Gra

If he’s wrapping bales, I’d say it’s going to be silage, so wont need to dry out tex. def far to cold and damp for dry hay, that’s a nov/dec job

Yeah pretty damp overnight. It will be silage round bails.
