Dern ended up with another nice submission, it looked like she was trying to show off her stand-up till she kicked her way onto the floor and from the there her opponent had no chance.

That's the same thing that happens whenever I try and throw a high kick.....

Seriously though, that's a massive strategic failure from her opponent. Why on earth would you jump into her guard.

The night went pretty much as expected. T-Wood and Cowboy needs to retire. Khamzat is a monster. Covington is unbearable but you can't argue about his efficacy in winning fights.

Do you think they’ll get khamzat fighting even before the Damian Maia fight? Bet you’d be interested in watching That one. I almost feel bad for Maia though, the wolf might be a bit much.

This weekend's card is nuts. I've trained with a quite a few of the City Kickboxing crew, they drop in at Absolute whenever they're in Melbourne. I actually asked Shane Young who just rocked up to our general BJJ class that I was coaching if he'd ever trained before. Nicest dude in the world. Kara Kai France had a couple of awesome fights wiith one of my coached Gustavo Falciroli a few years back.

Izzy is very difficult to tip against but I just dont' like him. Costa is a monster and not to be written off.

Reyes looks the goods.

I'll take KKF over the other guy, but honestly i've never heard of the other guy. I don't know much about the other two fights on the maincard.

If you get a chance, have a look into some of the things Shane Young has published, interviews, podcasts,, etc. His story is really inspiring.
