There are a huge number of "spots" where you may be successful - mulloway are tidal hunters, and they utilise opportunities along the full tidal scope of the system, so don't get too hung up on a particular location where someone has told you a fish has been caught recently. In fact, that's probably a good guide to where they won't be by the time you get there. I will say this, though, Nuscani, when you do finally hook one landbased, you do what we do ... run. And I do sort of mean that literally - keep your fish on the move when fishing anywhere near structure ... or say goodnight.
Thanks for the advice bilby

The one thing I've learnt with Jews is even if they are there you still need to be in luck to get a hookup. I've cast at stacked Jews plenty of times in a couple of rivers and had no interest. Then all of a sudden something triggers a bite window and they'll go.

Persistence. Good quality bait some luck and more persistence will see you getting one sooner rather than later.

They can be caught in every river in Melbourne. Caught in both bays too. Just about time on the water targeting them

Once you hook one, try and beat it before it beats you by steam training off towards pylons

westgates been donuts, most are caught at high voltage down from power station.
dont even hear much on lorimer side.

nice work on the salmon too i use to live two streets from the next pier up.

but back to the subject first bend after the werribee boat ramp, rail an road bridge before hairing island, barwon heads not far from caravan park, high voltage spotswood down from Burleigh St, lorimer street if lucky most chasing sit withinn 500m of punt jetty on that side. i wouldint even try stoney unless you like getting run into the rockway an losing gear i have 600m of 40lb mono on a penn on a 12ft gummy rod an get run stright into the rocks.
