Aye folks,
With the jews seamingly slowed off in the Yarra, im looking at heading west to Warnambool next weekend to have a crack. Caught heaps in the Yarra before but have never been to the Hopkins so looking for a spot or area to with a good chance (apart from the bridge and mouth). Happy to trade Yarra info if you want to PM me! Also, anyone no how far upstream they go in the Hopkins?
Any info would be great!
cheers

Hey I’m only new to this forum tonight.
I live and have fished in Hopkins for years. The mulloway get caught from mouth right upto Tooram stones which is about 10 kms up the river. A good spot to try would be at the back of Deakin University or at the bottom of Rowland lane. The bridge and mouth area would be my go to area at this time of year with a lot of dirty water coming down.
Cheers and good luck

Recent Hopkins report including this......
The Hopkins River has been fishing really well throughout the ski run with some excellent bream to 1.6kg being landed.
Best results have come on metal vibes and heavily weighted plastics under the salt wedge. The added bonus of fishing this way is there is a chance of hooking into one of the many mulloway.
