Grantville 17/11/19

Post by cheaterparts » Sun Nov 17, 2019 7:30 pm

A mate Leejo and Myself got out from Grantville about 8.30 this morning met three kayakers coming in on Hobies that hadn't had much luck and were worried about the weather as it was a bit bumpy with a squall just before we launched

Anyway we headed out about 3.5 km to a one of our normal haunts and in a very short time the small gummies and schoolies were playing havoc
at one stage I had all 3 rods on at the same time
I don't know how many we released many were small but probably size and many were not near size

one of the larger small fish I kept @ 87 cm and after a move found a bigger one at 1 meter both over all lengths

the Eagle rays were also out to play I hooked 4 i think landed 3 and one is still going at a hundred miles an hour - looking at the bottom of the spool after at least a 275 meter run at speed with out looking like slowing I just locked up and busted the leader off

near on the end of the trip I managed to get a 81 cm Snap - so all in all a great day out , the wind did come a go and at times is was bumpy

Leejo took one keeper gumbo at about 87 cm but like me returned a lot small fish

Great Red mate watched the gusts this morning and thought it would still be lumpy.
