Snapper + Whiting trip

Post by whambamsam » Sun Jan 12, 2020 8:44 pm

Thinking of heading out Tuesday morning for some snapper and depending on how that goes, come back in to chase my first KGW.

I was thinking of launching from Mt Martha and paddling out to 18-20m, then turning back for KGW towards the weed beds.

Alternative would just be to head down to Blairgowrie/Rye way and just chase KGW there instead.

Any suggestions on where I should go?

For snapper, maybe mt martha. Start early morning with the high tide.
Rye for squid and whiting, they can bite anytime.
Check the wind and tide. Mt martha can get a bit rough.
I think rye has less tidal movement, but can be crowded being its still school holiday.
Either way, good luck!

Yeah - I wanted to squeeze in one trip before the weather starts turning ugly later this week.

Think I'll give Mt Martha a shot and then turn in for the squid and whiting if I have no luck!
