I bumped into Brett from Reedy's down at the ramp a month or so ago. I took a look at his in the flesh for the first time, they looked fantastic. I wasn't aware of the gummy/snapper model, i might have to sus these out.hornet wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:52 pmI purchased the Penn Custom Gone Fishin Snapper/Gummy Rod 701SSL
I can recommend them, nice finish with lots of epoxy on the guides, nice action on the blank, I'm thinking of buying the other two models now !
Thx for the heads up Robbie !

Re: Penn ‘PPB’ snapper special rods
Thinking of picking up a couple of combos and hiring a boat to take a young one (8 yrs) out on his first trip on the water. Would you guys recommend these posted above? I get out on the water once every couple of years as I surf/beach fish and my fishing mate gets sea sick!
Cheers

For Once every couple of years I'd get a budget combo, that should last years with so little use so don't spend big...junior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:00 amThinking of picking up a couple of combos and hiring a boat to take a young one (8 yrs) out on his first trip on the water. I'd recommend going smaller and targeting flatties & pinkies if your taking an 8 year old (they don't really care what they catch, but if they don't catch anything they wont want to try again).junior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:00 amThinking of picking up a couple of combos and hiring a boat to take a young one (8 yrs) out on his first trip on the water.
