Re: Shimano Equivalent
I have a CI4+ and the 3000 was the same as the 2500 except for a larger spool.
The larger spool provides slightly faster retreival.
As for which shimano is comparable to the Certate IMO there is none. The Certate is in a different ball park of quality and price all together to anything shimano offer for small light weight spinning reels.
IMO the Ci4+ is the pick of lightweight reels from shimano.

Re: Shimano Equivalent
The 2500 is marginally bigger than pre LT Daiwa 2000 and noticeably smaller than their pre LT 2500.purple5ive wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 11:39 amIf the 2500 spool and rotor are the same size but just deeper cut on the 3k, then im guessing those spools should technically be interchangeable between the 2.5 and 3k bodies ??
I'm not sure whether to get a 2.5 or 3k in the shimano..
Not being able to go and physically look at the sizes makes things a bit difficult atm..
There's an apparently NIB Exsense 4000MXG on marketplace for $550. 11kg drag, 11+1 bearings and only 245gm. Its lighter than a 17 Morethan 2510PE-H

Re: Shimano Equivalent
Retrieve ratio is the same for each on site. Which lines up with my memory of them having a deep spool spool rather than larger diameter.
They often change the knobs between 2500 and 3000 with the 2500 having an I shape and the 3000 having the t shape knob typically.
Swapping a 3k spool to a 2500 effectively makes it a 3000 aside from the knobs and vice versa

Re: Shimano Equivalent
It'd be great if Japan imported the 3kMHG size in most models over here instead of only C3k. AUSDM has always been severely lacking options since forever compared to JDMBasti wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 11:52 amhttp://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/reel/6165
