Okay thanks. Noted. Nothing on the clutch thing and grease on everything else.cobby wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:39 amInox is a brand name like Shimano is. https://www.inoxmx.com/products/ The clutch doesn't need a drop of anything on it. That's when it'll start slipping badly if it gets more than the slightest of films of oil or grease on the rollers.Sebb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:08 am
Wait I'm confused. So INOX got into the clutch is bad and need to clean it hence I thought WD40 to get rid off the grease. But INOX as a lubricant for the rest is good (obviously). Or i got that wrong and the clutch also need a bit of lubricant?
Yeah I have methylated spirits, I'll use that.
Thanks heaps btw. I have a feeling I might need a new clutch.
A bit scared to open the body, last time I did that to my old and cheap reel, parts gone everywhere and couldn't put them back, lost parts etc.

Okay, so I cleaned the one way clutch properly and seems like it's fixed! Tried pulling line out, etc, hasn't been failing so far.
Thanks cobby and everyone

Re: Anti reverse not working on Abu Revo MGX 2500s
Yeah i never had problems like this with my shimano and daiwa. Seems like a design flaw from Abu.
Removing the grease off the one way clutch fixes the issue and need to keep it off that way. Just another thing to take note for maintenance I guess.
Otherwise, for 12 ball bearings 2500 reel and weigh only 175 gram, the reel is superb. Very light and smooth.
