How bout the trusty Siennas?
Thought about it, but the 3000 is only 5.0:1 ratio and the 4000 is 5.2:1 ratio. Not fast enough I think.
Ok fair enough. Looking to punch em right out.

Nasci 4000.

They go on special a fair bit at the major retailers. Think you can get them around the 120.

Oh yeah, forgot about Nasci. Thanks, I'll check it out when I'm at shops.

Speed is not only a ratio thing another thing to consider is spool diameter

That's true.
If I'd get a 4000 reel, you reckon 5.2:1 ratio be fast enough? Coz obviously 4000 reels have bigger diameter than 3000 reels.

Don't really know Sebb the reel I bought for spinning off the beach was a Shimano 5000 Stradic FK 6.1 gear ratio I'm not sure but I think they just have a deeper cuts pool I don't really know if the 5000 has a bigger diameter I've never owned a 4000 size I have 4 5000 size reels the 6 to 1 in the 5000 Stradic handles wave speed not a problem .
The Daiwa exceler 5000 that I have has a 5.2:1 retrieve and roughly the same size spool it seems to do all right but at times you really do have to crank a bit but have not been beaten by a wave .
I got it when they were $125 each and needed to replace the drag washers good reel for that price but not at the $179 they want now the price rise is why I never bought another one.

Sorry I am not more help cheers

No need to say sorry. Thanks for the info, definitely makes me to rethink the plan.

i figure its easier to wind a fast reel slower than a slow reel faster.

i also just had a look on aliexpress and bought another piscifun honor xt in 2000 sz, couldn't help myself at $56.

Just get a 4000 Sedona or Sienna or something. I wouldn't worry about the retrieve too much honestly. If there's salmon around 9 times out of 10 it won't make a lick of difference how fast your lure is moving as long as it's shiny.

I've got a Quantum Smoke Inshore 40 which has been great, don't think Jarvis is importing those anymore judging by what Dinga has in stock. There's a Quantum Reliance that might be ok.
